Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has urged the United States to remain open to supplying Ukraine with long-range weapons, saying they are crucial both as a “deterring factor” and a tool of defense.<br /><br />Speaking via video link from eastern Ukraine during a European Union enlargement event in Brussels, Zelensky also thanked the EU for its 19th sanctions package against Russia and expressed optimism about Ukraine’s path to full EU membership before 2030.<br /><br />“We need the support of the U.S. We need the support of President Trump about that. It will be a decisive pressure against Russia,” Zelensky said.
